Meeting between Mrs. Akie Abe, the spouse of the Prime Minister of Japan and
Mrs. Michelle Muscat, the spouse of the Prime Minister of Malta

On August 1st, Mrs Akie Abe, the spouse of the Prime Minister of Japan had a meeting with Mrs. Michelle Muscat, the spouse of the Prime Minister of Malta, who was visiting Japan.
The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere. Mrs. Abe expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome when the Prime Minister Abe and she visited Malta in May last year and welcomed Mrs. Muscat’s visit to Japan. Mrs. Muscat responded that she had a fond memory of the visit by the Prime Minister and Mrs. Abe to Malta and was enjoying the stay in Tokyo.
Mrs. Abe said that many Japanese, including students, have been visiting and staying in Malta. Mrs. Muscat said that, since one of the official languages in Malta is English and the weather and security in Malta are good, many Japanese have been visiting Malta for tourism and study. Mrs. Muscat expressed her satisfaction with the cultural exchange of the two countries through these visits.
They also talked on the fishery including bluefin tuna in Malta and the history of Malta.
