Minister Hayashi and Ambassador Zykas who exchange views after having a seat

On December 13, commencing at 11:00 a.m., for approximately 15 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from H.E. Dr. Aurelijus ZYKAS, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Japan.

  1. At the outset, Mr. Hayashi handed the congratulatory letter addressed for H.E. Mr. Gabrielius LANDSBERGIS, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, celebrating the 100th anniversary of friendship between the two countries.
  2. In the letter, Mr. Hayashi welcomed the fact that the bilateral relationship was upgraded to the strategic partnership on the occasion of the visit by Prime Minister H.E. Ms. ŠIMONYTĖ of Lithuania to Japan in October this year. He also mentioned his sincere wish that the two countries' friendship flourish further as they work together to address the challenges facing the international community, and deepen cooperation in maintaining and reinforcing the international order based on the rule of law.
  3. Minister Hayashi also exchanged views with Ambassador Zykas regarding the bilateral relations and the international issues among others.
