Signing of the Agreement between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Italian Republic Concerning Reciprocal Provision of Supplies and Services between the Self-Defense Forces of Japan and the Armed Forces of the Italian Republic


On November 25, commencing at 9:50 a.m. local time (same day, 17:50 p.m. JST) in Rome, Italy, the Agreement between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Italian Republic Concerning Reciprocal Provision of Supplies and Services between the Self-Defense Forces of Japan and the Armed Forces of the Italian Republic (“Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement,” or ACSA) was signed by Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and The Rt. Hon. Guido Crosetto, Minister of Defense of the Italian Republic. Following the signing ceremony, the two ministers had a brief discussion regarding the cooperation between the two countries in the field of security.
The Agreement establishes a framework such as the settlement procedures for the reciprocal provision of supplies and services between the Self-Defense Forces of Japan and the Armed Forces of the Italian Republic.
The Agreement will facilitate the smooth and prompt provision of supplies and services between the Self-Defense Forces of Japan and the Armed Forces of the Italian Republic. The Agreement will also promote their closer cooperation, and enable them to actively contribute to peace and security of the international community.
