Japan-Italy Relations
Dispatch of Mr. AMARI Akira, member of the House of Representatives (Special Envoy of the Prime Minister) for the funeral of Hon. Senator Silvio Berlusconi of the Italian Republic
Regarding the funeral of the Hon. Senator Silvio Berlusconi of the Italian Republic, which will take place on June 14 in Milan, Italian Republic, Japan decided to dispatch Mr. AMARI Akira, member of the House of Representatives (President of Japan-Italy Parliamentary Friendship League), as Special Envoy of Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister, in view of the importance of the relations between Japan and Italy.
Senator Berlusconi served as President of the Council of Ministers for four times. During his mandate, he contributed to develop relations between Japan and Italy, by attending the G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit, as well as the support he offered following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. The dispatch of Mr. Amari as Special Envoy of Prime Minister aims to express the deepest condolences of Prime Minister Kishida and that of Japan.
