Congratulatory Message from Prime Minister Kishida to Irish Prime Minister Varadkar

On December 19, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, sent a congratulatory letter to H.E. Mr. Leo Varadkar, T.D., Taoiseach (Prime Minister of Ireland), for his appointment.
- In the letter, touching upon the Joint Statement between Japan and Ireland issued this July, Prime Minister Kishida expressed his intention to further develop the bilateral relationship.
- Moreover, Prime Minister Kishida mentioned that Japan would lead the international community as the G7 presidency and a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council next year, and that he would like to further strengthen collaboration with Ireland, which shares the fundamental values with Japan.
