On October 28, commencing at 2:07 p.m. for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, held a meeting with the Rt Hon Anthony Charles Lynton Blair, Former Prime Minister of the United Kindgom and Mr. Jamie Dimon, Chairman and CEO of JP Morgan Chase & Co. The overview of the meeting is as follows.

  1. Prime Minister Kishida welcomed Mr. Blair and Mr. Dimon’s visit to Japan. He Stated that as the international community faces a number of historic challenges, Japan intends to make efforts to maintain and strengthen a rules-based, free and open international order under the recognition that security of Europe and the Indo-Pacific is inseparable. He also mentioned that Japan is strengthening its collaboration with its like minded partners towards the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific”.
  2. Former Prime Minister Blair stated that he is encouraged by the initiative of Prime Minister Kishida in maintaining and strengthening a free and open international order. He further mentioned that, as peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region is becoming increasingly important, he intends to continue his own efforts in related areas, and that, to achieve such a goal, he is also keen to make contributions to further reinforcing the relationship between Japan and the UK.
