On July 14, Mr. FUJII Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the National Day Reception of the French Republic held at the residence of the Ambassador of France to Japan, and delivered his remarks on behalf of the Japanese Government. The overview is as follows.

  1. In his remarks, State Minister Fujii stated that Japan and France are “exceptional partners” sharing values and principles, and emphasized that bilateral cooperation has been strengthened across a wide range of areas, including security, economy, science and technology, global issues, culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges.
  2. Furthermore, State Minister Fujii expressed his expectation that the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan will serve as an opportunity to further deepen exchanges between the two countries.
