State Minister SUZUKI and Parliamentary Vice-Minister UESUGI's attendance at the Farewell Reception for Ambassador of Finland to Japan, H.E. Mr. Pekka ORPANA

On August 10, State Minister for Foreign Affairs SUZUKI Takako and Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs UESUGI Kentaro attended the farewell reception for Ambassador of Finland to Japan, H.E Mr.Pekka ORPANA which was held at the Embassy of Finland in Tokyo.
- At the outset, Ambassador Orpana gave his farewell address, and the remarks by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Suzuki followed.
- State Minister Suzuki stated that it would be an honor for Japan, that Ambassador Orpana was proud to achieve the 40th anniversary of his diplomatic career in Japan. She expressed her appreciation and respect for Ambassador Orpana's efforts to strengthen bilateral relations through various initiatives on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Finland in 2019, the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the visit of Prime Minister MARIN to Japan this May. State Minister Suzuki expressed her hope that Ambassador Orpana would continue to contribute as a bridge between Japan and Finland, and expressed her wish for the further development of Japan-Finland relations.
