On June 10, Mr. FUJII Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the reception to celebrate the Finnish Defence Forces Flag Day held at the Embassy of the Republic of Finland in Tokyo, and delivered his remarks on behalf of the Japanese government. The overview is as follows.

  1. In his remarks, State Minister Fujii welcomed President Stubb's visit to Japan, noted that exchanges between the two countries have become more active than ever, and stated that the two countries will further deepen their defense cooperation in the future.
  2. State Minister Fujii also stated that cooperation between the two countries is progressing further in a wide range of fields, including trade, economic security, 5G/6G, supercomputers, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and that he himself hopes to work to develop Japan-Finland relations.
