Courtesy Call on Mr. Mogens Lykketoft, Speaker of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Denmark, by Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Fumio Kishida

On May 1, from 11:00 a.m. for approximately 40 minutes, Mr. Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs, who was visiting Denmark, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Mogens Lykketoft, Speaker of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Denmark.
- At the beginning, Speaker Lykketoft stated that he is pleased by the fact that the excellent bilateral relationship has been further strengthened by recent people to people exchanges. In response, Foreign Minister Kishida stated that Japan and Denmark share many economic benefits as maritime nations and are important partners who share vision and actual achievements in the fields of peace building and gender equality. Foreign Minister Kishida added that he would like to promote further cooperation with Denmark.
- Speaker Lykketoft expressed his interest in the economic situation of Japan. In response; Foreign Minister Kishida explained the current condition and prospects of Japan’s economy. They also exchanged opinions regarding security issues and the situations in East Asia.
