Japan-Belgium Relations

  1. The Japan-Belgium Counter-Terrorism Consultation was held in Brussels, Belgium, on November 23, 2016. 
  2. H.E. Mr. Yuji Kumamaru, Ambassador in charge of International Cooperation for Countering Terrorism and International Organized Crime, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mr. Frank Arnauts, Director, Counter-terrorism Section, Security Policy Directorate, Foreign Affairs, Federal Public Service of Belgium, represented the respective sides. Officials from counter-terrorism related ministries and agencies also attended the meeting.
  3. Japan and Belgium exchanged views on information regarding the current international and regional terrorism situation, and also on international counter-terrorism cooperation.
