Courtesy Call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU by Deputy Chair of the Groups for Interparliamentary Relations with Japan and Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

On August 28, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ayano KUNIMITSU received a courtesy call from Ms. Lesia ZABURANNA, deputy chair of the Groups for Interparliamentary Relations with Japan, and Mr. Andriy LOPUSHANSKYI, Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, who are visiting Japan. The overview is as follows:
- At the outset, State Minister KUNIMITSU extended her congratulations on the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence on August 24. She stated that, as expressed at the Leaders Meeting of the Coalition of the Willing on Ukraine attended by Prime Minister TAKAICHI on August 24 and at the Japan-Ukraine Foreign Ministers’ Telephone Meeting held on August 25, Japan will continue to work closely with the international community to support Ukraine and impose sanctions against Russia toward the realization of a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
- In response, Deputy Chair ZABURANNA expressed her gratitude for the support Japan has provided to Ukraine to date and stated her desire to cooperate in developing the bilateral relations.
