On June 18, commencing at 3:45 p.m. for approximately 40 minutes, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ayano KUNIMITSU received a courtesy call from Mr. Paweł MILEWSKI, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Japan. The overview is as follows:

  1. At the outset, State Minister KUNIMITSU referred to Prime Minister Tusk's visit to Japan in April of this year and the summit meeting held on that occasion, noting that the bilateral relationship had been elevated to a "Comprehensive and Strategic Partnership," as well as the signing of documents including a Social Security Agreement. She expressed her expectations for further deepening bilateral relationship, including in the area of economic sphere.
  2. State Minister KUNIMITSU also referred to Poland's active support for Ukraine and emphasized that Japan would continue its assistance to Ukraine, including support for its future reconstruction.
  3. Both sides exchanged views on regional affairs, including the situation in Ukraine, and confirmed their commitment to further strengthening the bilateral relationship across a wide range of fields, such as cooperation in international fora.
