Japan-Moldova Relations

On July 22, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by H.E. Mr. Serghei MIHOV, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to Japan.

The overview of the courtesy call is as follows:

  1. At the outset, State Minister KUNIMITSU welcomed Ambassador MIHOV on his assumption of office and expressed her hope that Japan-Moldova relations would further develop through cooperation with the Ambassador.
  2. State Minister KUNIMITSU stated that Japan has consistently supported Moldova’s democracy and economic development. She also expressed Japan’s intention to continue to support Moldova’s efforts toward EU accession.
  3. In response, Ambassador MIHOV expressed gratitude for Japan's support across a wide range of fields to Moldova and stated his intention to continue cooperating to further develop Japan-Moldova relations.
