On April 23, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by H.E. Mr. Dumitru SOCOLAN, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to Japan.

The overview of the courtesy call is as follows:

  1. At the outset, State Minister KUNIMITSU expressed her gratitude for Ambassador SOCOLAN’s contributions. She also stated with pleasure that relationships between Japan and Moldova have deepened further during his tenure and that exchanges between the two countries have become even more active in recent years.
  2. State Minister KUNIMITSU introduced Japan's ongoing projects to consolidate democracy in Moldova and stated that Japan would continue to support Moldova's resilience even after departure of Ambassador SOCOLAN.
  3. In response, Ambassador SOCOLAN expressed gratitude for Japan's extensive support across a wide range of fields to Moldova. He stated his intention to continue contributing to the development of bilateral relationships.
