On November 26, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by H.E. Mr. Dumitru SOCOLAN, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to Japan.

The overview of the courtesy call is as follows;

  1. At the outset, State Minister KUNIMITSU stated that Japan had consistently supported democracy and economic development of Moldova, commending Moldova's efforts in advancing reforms toward EU accession. She also expressed her respect to Moldova for receiving a large number of displaced persons arising from Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
  2. State Minister KUNIMITSU introduced Japan's ongoing projects to consolidate democracy in Moldova and stated that Japan would continue to support Moldova's resilience alongside the international community.
  3. In response, Ambassador SOCOLAN expressed gratitude for Japan's extensive support across a wide range of fields to Moldova. He stated his desire to further strengthen the bilateral relationship, as a result of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
