Japan-Lithuania Relations

Ambassador ZYKAS and Parliamentary Vice-Minister Eri

On May 12, Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, attended the lunch hosted by H.E. Dr. Aurelijus ZYKAS, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Japan. The overview of the meeting is as follows:

  1. At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Eri referred to the recent active high-level exchanges between Japan and Lithuania and expressed her expectation for the further development of bilateral relations. She also expressed her intention to continue working on cooperation through regional framework such as Japan-Baltic Cooperation Dialogue.
  2. In response, Ambassador Zykas expressed his eagerness to further strengthen bilateral relationship based on the Strategic Partnership.
  3. The two sides also exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and other issues, and confirmed their intention to continue working closely together.
