- The 6th Japan-Russia Counter-Terrorism Consultation was held in Tokyo, Japan, on May 21, 2015.
- H.E. Mr. Tsukasa Kawada, Ambassador in charge of International Cooperation for Countering Terrorism and International Organized Crime, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mr. Ilya Rogachev, Director General of the Department on New Challenges and Threats, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, represented respective sides. Officials from counter-terrorism related ministries and agencies attended the meeting.
- Bearing the tragic Japanese hostage-killing incident in Syria in mind, Japan and Russia exchanged views on information regarding the international and regional terrorism situation, and also on the international counter-terrorism cooperation.
