Meeting between Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs SHIMADA and H.E. Ms. Olga Kliamaki, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Japan

On September 14, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs SHIMADA Tomoaki, together with Parliamentary Vice-Minister of the Cabinet Office WAKAYAMA Shinji, held a meeting with H.E. Ms. Olga Kliamaki, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Japan.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister SHIMADA conveyed his sympathies to those affected by the wildfires in Greece this summer. He also extended his congratulations on the successful Thessaloniki International Fair, at which Japan served as the Guest of Honour.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister SHIMADA stated that Japan attaches importance to its relationship with Greece as a strategic partner and looks forward to further advancing economic relations, including in the maritime field. The two sides concurred on working even more closely together to maintain and strengthen a free and open international order based on the rule of law and to realize the Updated “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)”.
- The two sides also concurred on continuing close coordination on their responses toward North Korea, including the nuclear and missile issues as well as the issue of abductions.
