Letters issued by Prime Minister TAKAICHI and Foreign Minister MOTEGI on the 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Bosnia and Herzegovina

- February 9, 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Bosnia and Herzegovina. On this occasion, Prime Minister Takaichi issued a letter to H.E. Ms. Borjana KRIŠTO, Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stating that Japan would like to work together with Bosnia and Herzegovina to strengthen their bilateral relations on the basis of good friendship.
- Minister for Foreign Affairs Motegi issued a letter to H.E. Mr. Elmedin KONAKOVIĆ, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stating that under the Western Balkans Cooperation Initiative, Japan will continue to support reform efforts in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- On February 9 in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. AIKI Toshihiro, Ambassador of Japan to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and H.E. Ms. Borjana KRIŠTO, Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina exchanged the letters between the leaders of the two countries. The Chairwoman expressed her gratitude for Japan's support in reconstruction and peacekeeping, and expressed her hope for further strengthening the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries in the future.
