On December 3, Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, attended the reception commemorating the Independence Day of the Republic of Albania, which was held in Tokyo, and delivered her remarks on behalf of the Government of Japan. The overview is as follows;

  1. In her remarks, Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI expressed congratulations on Albania's Independence Day on November 28 and the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Albanian Embassy in Japan, stating that the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries have been steadily progressing in many fields.
  2. Also, Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI stated that the Government of Japan will continue to support the development of the Western Balkan region, including Albania, under the "Western Balkans Cooperation Initiative."
