Message of condolences from Prime Minister ISHIBA Shigeru and Foreign Minister IWAYA Takeshi on the cable car incident occurred in the Portuguese Republic

- On September 4, Prime Minister ISHIBA Shigeru sent the following message of condolences to H.E. Mr. Luís Montenegro, Prime Minister of the Portuguese Republic, regarding the cable car incident which occurred in Lisbon, Portugal on September 3 (local time).
“I am deeply saddened to learn of the news regarding the cable car incident which occurred in Lisbon.
One behalf of Japanese government and Japanese nationals, I would like to express my heartfelt condolences about the lives lost and send my deepest sympathies to the bereaved families.
I also extend my sympathy to those who were injured and wish for their prompt recovery.” - On the same day, Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, sent the following message of condolences to H.E. Mr. Paulo Rangel, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic.
