State Minister HORII shaking hands with Minister Delegate Caroit

On September 4, Mr. HORII Iwao, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, attended a luncheon meeting with H.E. Ms. Éléonore Caroit, Minister Delegate for Francophonie, International Partnerships and French Nationals Abroad, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, during her visit to Japan.

  1. State Minister HORII welcomed Minister Delegate Caroit’s visit to Japan. The two sides discussed cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region based on the discussions during the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Leaders Meeting, which they had both attended, and also exchanged views on Japan-France bilateral relations as well as regional affairs, including the situations in Ukraine and the Middle East.
  2. The two sides highlighted the deepening of Japan-France relations through President Macron’s visit to Japan in April and the G7 Evian Summit hosted by France in June and confirmed that they would continue to work closely between the two countries.
