Japan-Finland Relations

On April 21, commencing at 4:30 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. OUE Sadamasa, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, received a courtesy call from the delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Finland.

  1. At the outset, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister OUE welcomed the delegation’s visit to Japan, stating that Japan and Finland are strategic partners sharing common values and principles, and welcomed that cooperation in various fields is progressing based on the “Joint statement on Reinforced Cooperation in the Future between Japan and Finland” announced in June last year.
  2. Recognizing that the security of the Euro-Atlantic and the Indo-Pacific is inseparable, the two sides exchanged views on cooperation in the field of security and defense, and also discussed the international situation.
