State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU’s attendance at the reception hosted by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Japan on the occasion of the visit of Minister of Defense and Foreign Trade FRANCKEN

On August 31, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the reception hosted by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Japan on the occasion of the visit to Japan by H.E. Mr. Theo FRANCKEN, Minister of Defense and Foreign Trade of the Kingdom of Belgium and delivered remarks.
- State Minister KUNIMITSU welcomed Minister Francken’s visit to Japan and noted that, in this milestone year marking the 160th anniversary of Japan-Belgium friendship, a variety of exchanges and events have been held, including the State Visit to Belgium by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan in June.
- State Minister KUNIMITSU also expressed her confidence that Minister Francken’s visit would provide an important opportunity to further advance security and defense cooperation, and stated that Japan would continue to work toward further strengthening bilateral relationship.
