On May 20, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the opening ceremony of the Special Exhibition “Celebrating 160 Years of Amity between Belgium and Japan - A Journey of Artistic and Knowledge Exchanges -” held at the Kokugakuin University Museum to commemorate the 160th anniversary of Japan-Belgium friendship, and delivered her remarks.

  1. State Minister KUNIMITSU emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with Belgium, a strategic partner that shares values and principles such as freedom, democracy, and the rule of law. She stated that we will further strengthen the bilateral relations.
  2. At this ceremony, Mr. HARIMOTO Masayuki, President of Kokugakuin University, H.E. Mr. Antoine EVRARD, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Japan, and Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications and President of the Japan-Belgium Parliamentary Friendship League, also made remarks.
