On July 21, Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the Luncheon meeting Hosted by H.E. Mr. PAQUET, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Japan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. The overview of the meeting is as follows:

Ambassador KLUČAR of the Czech Republic to Japan, Ambassador BERKA of Austria to Japan, and Ambassador UNGA of Estonia to Japan attended the luncheon on behalf of the EU side. The participants exchanged views on the international situation, including developments in East Asia and Ukraine, the evolved “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)” as well as cooperation between Japan and the EU, which share fundamental values. They shared the view that Japan, the EU, and its Member States would continue to work closely together and further deepen their cooperation under the evolved “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP).”
