  1. The delegation of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO-PA), currently on a working visit to Japan, visited the Prime Minister's Office on November 17, followed by visits the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense on November 18.

  1. At the Prime Minister's Office, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary SATO Kei and Special Advisor to the Prime Minister OUE Sadamasa. Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary SATO welcomed the delegation to Japan and explained global security issues in light of the current regional situation, Japan's security policy, as well as the ongoing efforts to further strengthen Japan-NATO relations. A lively exchange of views thereafter took place between the Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary and the delegation.

  1. During the visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITU Ayano welcomed the delegation’s visit to Japan. She also explained that as it is now a shared understanding among like-minded countries that the security of the Euro-Atlantic and the Indo-Pacific is inseperabale, further development of Japan-NATO relations and NATO-IP4 (Indo-Pacific partners: Japan, Australia, New Zaland, the Republic of Korea) relations is strategically important. State Minister and the delegation also exchanged views on the global security environment and Japan-NATO relations.
  1. During the visit to the Ministry of Defense, the delegation received a briefing from the relevant department and a welcoming address from Minister of Defense KOIZUMI Shinjiro.
