  1. Japan and the EU has co-hosted the Conference on Tajikistan-Afghanistan Border Management in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan on Tuesday, March 4 and Wednesday, 5.
  2. At the conference much discussion was held on the topic of border management issues among the experts and government officials of Japan, EU, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, UNDP, OSCE, and UNODC. The Government of Japan has dispatched a lecturer on operations of customs in Japan. Based upon the two day discussions, the conference has adopted the recommendation on Tajikistan-Afghanistan Border Management and Cross-border Collaboration.
