Courtesy Call on Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs ERI Alriya by H.E. Mr. Olimjon ABDULLAEV, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On May 28, Ms. ERI Alfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Olimjon ABDULLAEV, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The overview of the meeting is as follows:
- At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Eri stated that Uzbekistan is an important strategic partner for Japan in maintaining and strengthening a free and open international order based on the rule of law and that she looks forward to working closely with Deputy Minister Mr. ABDULLAEV to further deepen bilateral relations, which have dramatically developed by President Mirziyoyev’s visit to Japan December last year. Ms. ERI also explained the update of the “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)”.
- In response, Mr. ABDULLAEV referred to various efforts to strengthen bilateral relations, including people-to-people exchange programs.
- The two sides confirmed that they would work closely together based on the last year’s Summit of “Central Asia plus Japan” Dialogue (CA+JAD) and bilateral Summit Meeting as well as Ms. Eri’s visit to Uzbekistan May this year.
