State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU’s attendance at the “Reception on the occasion of 35th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan”

On September 17, Ms. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the“Reception on the occasion of 35th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan” held in Tokyo on behalf of the Government of Japan. The details are as follows:
- State Minister Kunimitsu expressed congratulations on the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence and stated that Japan and Uzbekistan, as strategic partners in maintaining and strengthening a free and open international order based on the rule of law, have developed cooperative relations in fields such as politics, economic cooperation, and human resource development over the course of more than 30 years of diplomatic relations.
- State Minister Kunimitsu expressed her willingness to further develop the bilateral relations in fields including business and tourism through the follow-up efforts on the outcomes of President Mirziyoyev’s visit to Japan last December on the occasion of the Summit of the“Central Asia plus Japan” Dialogue.
- H.E. Mr. Abdurakhmonov, Director of Migration Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan, expressed his gratitude for Japan’s contributions for development of Uzbekistan after gaining independence, and expressed his desire to further strengthen the bonds between the two countries, building on the foundation of their cooperative relations over 30 years.
