Japan-Turkmenistan Relations
Courtesy call on State Minister FUJII by Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan

On April 10, commencing at 5:05 p.m. for approximately 50 minutes, Mr. FUJII Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from Mr. Serdar MUHAMMETDURDYYEV, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Head of the State Protocol and International Relations Department of the Presidential Administration of Turkmenistan who is visiting Japan in order to prepare for the visit of H.E. Mr. Serdar BERDIMUHAMEDOV, President of Turkmenistan to Japan. The overview is as follows.
- State Minister Fujii mentioned that Japan and Turkmenistan are mutually beneficial partner based on friendship and mutual trust and expressed his willingness to closely work with Deputy Minister Muhammetdurdyyev to prepare for the visit of President of Turkmenistan to Japan, which starts from next week.
- Minister Fujii also pointed out that Turkmenistan would be the first country to celebrate the National Day of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, and said that Japanese side is looking forward to further strengthening of mutual understanding and exchange between the two countries through Expo. In response, Deputy Minister Muhammetdurdyyev expressed his gratitude to Minister Fujii for his personal support for the visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Japan and said that he would like to strengthen cooperation in all areas, such as politics and economic relations including high-level visit taking the opportunity of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.
