Meeting between Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi and Ms. Dunyagozel GULMANOVA,Chairperson of the Parliament of Turkmenistan

On February 21, commencing at 5:15 p.m.(local time) for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, held a meeting with H.E. Ms. Dunyagozel GULMANOVA, Chairperson of the Parliament of Turkmenistan, during her visit to Japan. The overview of the courtesy call is as follows.
- At the outset, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi welcomed the first visit to Japan by Chairperson of the Parliament of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova and stated that Turkmenistan is a friendly partner and recently the bilateral relationship is rapidly expanding in the fields such as large-scale economic projects and the promotion of Japanese language education. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi also expressed his gratitude for Turkmenistan's message of sympathy regarding the Noto Peninsula earthquake.
- Cief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi mentioned that during the meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Meredov, who visited Japan last month, they confirmed the importance of close collaboration in various areas, such as economic, including decarbonization, and academic fields. In response, Chairperson of the Parliament Gulmanova expressed her hope for further strengthening bilateral relations, including inter-parliamentary exchanges.
- Both sides welcomed the progress in inter-parliamentary exchanges and concurred on the importance of continuing to advance bilateral dialogue at various levels.
