State Minister Kunimitsu is talking with Mr. Alibek BAKAYEV, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan

On November 14, Ms. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Alibek BAKAYEV, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The overview of the meeting is as follows:

  1. At the outset, State Minister Kunimitsu stated that Kazakhstan is an important strategic partner for Japan in building a free and open international order based on the rule of law and expressed her hope that the visit of Mr. Bakayev to Japan will contribute to further deepening of the bilateral relations.
  2. In response, Deputy Minister Bakayev extended his congratulations on Ms. Kunimitsu’s appointment as State Minister for Foreign Affairs and referred to various efforts to strengthen bilateral relations.
  3. The two sides also affirmed their intention to continue close cooperation in the international arena and confirmed that they would work closely together toward the early convening of the Summit of the “Central Asia plus Japan” Dialogue.
