On March 17, commencing at 2:10 p.m., Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Murat NURTLEU, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan for approximately 35 minutes, who is visiting Japan as a guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The overview is as follows.

  1. At the outset, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi welcomed Deputy Prime Minister – Foreign Minister Nurtleu’s visit to Japan and stated that he has worked on strengthening the relations between Japan and Kazakhstan as well as other Central Asian countries through his visit to Kazakhstan as then Minister for Foreign Affairs and his holding of the 9th Foreign Ministers' Meeting of the "Central Asia plus Japan" Dialogue in Tokyo in 2022.
  2. The two sides concurred that they will continue to work closely to further develop cooperative relations including the natural resources and energy sectors between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Japan as important strategic partners.
  3. The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international situations including those in Central Asia, and concurred on closely cooperating in international arena.
