On May 21, Ms. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by Mr. Alexander KHVTISIASHVILI, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. The overview of the meeting is as follows:

  1. At the outset, State Minister Kunimitsu welcomed Deputy Minister Khvtisiashvili's visit to Japan and is pleased to note that Japan and Georgia have built up people-to-people exchanges over many years across a broad range of fields, including politics, economics, and culture, thereby strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries.
  2. State Minister Kunimitsu also welcomed the recent increase in interregional exchanges and cooperation in the field of the environment between the two countries.
  3. The two sides exchanged views on regional and international affairs as well as cooperation in international fora.
  4. The two sides confirmed that they would continue to work together in a wide range of fields, including economic relations and people-to-people exchanges.
