On May 21, Ms. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by Mr. Alexander KHVTISIASHVILI, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. The overview of the meeting is as follows:
- At the outset, State Minister Kunimitsu welcomed Deputy Minister Khvtisiashvili's visit to Japan and is pleased to note that Japan and Georgia have built up people-to-people exchanges over many years across a broad range of fields, including politics, economics, and culture, thereby strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries.
- State Minister Kunimitsu also welcomed the recent increase in interregional exchanges and cooperation in the field of the environment between the two countries.
- The two sides exchanged views on regional and international affairs as well as cooperation in international fora.
- The two sides confirmed that they would continue to work together in a wide range of fields, including economic relations and people-to-people exchanges.
