On June 13, Mr. SHIMADA Tomoaki, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the opening ceremony of "Georgia Festival 2026" held at Yoyogi Park and delivered remarks on behalf of the Government of Japan.

  1. In his remarks, Parliamentary Vice-Minister SHIMADA welcomed the growing opportunities in Japan to experience Georgian food culture, including Georgian cuisine and Georgian wine.
  2. Parliamentary Vice-Minister Shimada also expressed his hope that bilateral exchanges in a wide range of fields would become even more active toward the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Georgia in 2027.
  3. The festival featured Georgian dances and folk songs. The venue was filled with booths offering Georgian cuisine and wine, as well as booths for product sales, attracting many visitors.
