State Minister KUNIMITSU delivering a greeting at the Independence Day of Georgia Reception

On June 12, Ms. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended "The Independence Day of Georgia Reception" held in Tokyo and hosted by the Embassy of Georgia in Japan, where she delivered remarks on behalf of the Government of Japan. The overview is as follows:

  1. On the occasion of the Independence Day of Georgia, State Minister Kunimitsu extended her heart felt congratulations. She also stated that Georgia is an important partner for Japan in maintaining and strengthening a free and open international order based on the rule of law, and that the two countries have steadily built friendly relations over more than 30 years through exchanges in a wide range of fields including politics, economy, and culture since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992.
  2. State Minister Kunimitsu also expressed gratitude to all those involved who have worked toward promoting bilateral relations, and hoped that bilateral relations will develop further toward the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2027.
