Courtesy Call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU by H.E. Mr. Gursel ISMAYILZADA, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Japan

On October 28, Ms. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by H.E. Mr. Gursel ISMAYILZADA, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Japan, who is soon to leave his post. The overview of the meeting is as follows:
- At the beginning, State Minister Kunimitsu expressed gratitude to Ambassador Ismayilzada for his longstanding efforts in developing bilateral relations, as he concludes his second term as Ambassador to Japan.
- Ambassador Ismayilzada expressed congratulations on State Minister Kunimitsu on her appointment. Then Ambassador Ismayilzada mentioned major events held during his tenure such as the EXPO 2025, Osaka, Kansai. He also expressed his intention to continue to support the strengthening of Japan-Azerbaijan relations in various ways even after leaving his post.
- They discussed cooperation in the international arenas and expressed their hopes for deepening bilateral relations going forward.
