Courtesy Call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs FUJII by H.E. Mr. Yalchin Rafiyev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Azerbaijan to Japan

On March 12, Mr. FUJII Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by H.E. Mr. Yalchin Rafiyev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Azerbaijan. The overview of the meeting is as follows:
- State Minister Fujii referred to Expo 2025 which will open in April and expressed his expectation for Azerbaijan’s participation of the Expo and its pavilion. He also expressed hope that the Japan-Azerbaijan Joint Economic Conference would further stimulate economic relations between the two countries.
- State Minister Fujii also expressed his respect for H.E. Mr. Rafiyev's efforts and Azerbaijan’s leadership as the Presidency at COP29 in Azerbaijan last year and expressed Japan’s willingness to continue working with Azerbaijan at COP30.
- H.E. Mr. Rafiev mentioned Azerbaijan's efforts towards Expo 2025 and expressed willingness to promote economic relations between the two countries. He also expressed enthusiasm for the Informal Meeting on Further Actions against Climate Change to be held in Tokyo from 13 March.
- They reaffirmed their consensus in strengthening their cooperation in the decarbonization and economic fields.
