Courtesy Call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU by H.E. Ms. Monika SIMONYAN, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Japan

On March 2, Ms. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by H.E. Ms. Monika SIMONYAN, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Japan. The overview of the meeting is as follows:
- At the outset, State Minister KUNIMITSU stated that Armenia is an important partner with which Japan can work together to strengthen a free and open international order based on the rule of law, and that Prime Minister Pashinyan’s visit to Japan in September last year was a highly meaningful opportunity that advanced bilateral relations.
- State Minister KUNIMITSU also expressed her hope that the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be signed soon, and that the issues surrounding the region would be resolved peacefully and permanently.
- Ambassador SIMONYAN congratulated on State Minister KUNIMITSU’s reappointment and provided an explanation regarding the regional situation.
- The two sides concurred on continuing to cooperate in a wide range of fields, including the economy the IT field, culture, and cooperation in the international arena.
