Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs MATSUMOTO’s attendance at “The Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia”

On May 26, 2025, Mr. MATSUMOTO Hisashi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended “The Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia” held at by the Embassy of Armenia in Japan and delivered a speech on behalf of the Government of Japan. The overview is as follows.
- On the occasion of the Independence Day of Armenia, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Matsumoto extended his heartfelt congratulations and stated that Japan and Armenia are important partners working together in maintaining and strengthening a free and open international order based on the rule of law. Over more than 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, two countries have accumulated human exchanges in various fields.
- Furthermore, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Matsumoto mentioned Prime Minister Pashinyan's visit to Japan in early September, stating that he is confident that the first visit by a Prime Minister to Japan in 20 years will further strengthen the ties between the two countries. He also stated that Japan-Armenia relations are experiencing a historic development in this year, and expressed his respect for Ambassador Simonyan and all those who have contributed to the development of Japan-Armenia relations, and expressed his hope for further development in Armenia and deepening of relations between the two countries.
