On December 16, commencing at 5:40 p.m., Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, held a meeting with H.E. Ms. Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine, who is visiting Japan, for approximately 15 minutes. The overview is as follows.

  1. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi stated that he was pleased to meet with First Deputy Prime Minister Svyrydenko again following his visit to Ukraine last September. He explained Japan’s support and efforts for Ukraine to date, and expressed Japan’s intention to continue to provide assistance for the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine through a public-private partnership.
  2. In response, First Deputy Prime Minister Svyrydenko stated that she was pleased to reunite with Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi and expressed gratitude for Japan’s support to date. Furthermore, both sides exchanged views on recent situations and they concurred that both countries would continue to work closely.
