Foreign Minister Kamikawa’s Visit to Facility for Supporting Women and Children



On January 7, during her visit to Ukraine, Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, visited the Spilno Spot for supporting women and children established by UNICEF at Kyiv Central Railway Station. There are over 150 facilities in Ukraine, some of which are operated by support from the Japanese government through UNICEF.
Minister Kamikawa received explanations from UNICEF officials and conversed with children, their parents, and other young people, affirming the current state of their lives and need for support. She stated that the Japanese government and the Ukraine-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group would like to give the children picture books and continue to provide support so that the people of Ukraine can return to their safe and secure lives.
