On August 4, commencing at 4:10 p.m., Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, received a courtesy call by the delegation headed by H.E. Mr. Taras KACHKA, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine. The overview is as follows.

  1. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi conveyed that Japan would support for Ukraine's efforts toward a just and lasting peace. He also stated that Japan would not waver in its position of supporting for Ukraine, and that around 30 documents for cooperation were signed at the Japan-Ukraine Economic Reconstruction Promotion Forum today. He also coveyed that Japan would continue to promote support through public-private partnership.
  2. In response, Deputy Prime Minister Kachka expressed their gratitude for Japan's support to date. They then exchanged views on the recent situation, including how to respond to abductions issues by North Korea, and shared the view to continue close cooperation between the two countries.
