  1. The Second Joint Committee on Cooperation between Japan and Romania in the field of Science and Technology was held on 29 March 2018 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo.
  2. This Consultation was co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Takeshi Nakane, Ambassador for Science and Technology Cooperation from the Japanese side, and Mr. Viorel Vulturescu, Director of International Relations, Ministry of Research and Innovation, from the Romanian side. This Consultation was attended by officials and members from relevant ministries and institutions of both countries including the Cabinet Office (CAO), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), Romania’s Ministry of Research and Innovation, and the Embassy of Romania in Japan.
  3. Both sides explained their current policies in science, technology and innovation, and exchanged views on ultra-intense laser science and seismology.
