Prime Minister Kishida’s visit to Ukraine and Republic of Poland

Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Volodymyr ZELENSKYY, President of Ukraine, will pay a visit to Ukraine on March 21, 2023 to hold a summit meeting with President Zelenskyy in Kyiv. Prime Minister Kishida will then visit the Republic of Poland on March 22 for a summit meeting and return to Japan on the morning of March 23.
- On this occasion, Prime Minister Kishida will express to President Zelenskyy his respect for the courage and perseverance of the Ukrainian people standing up to defend their homeland under President Zelenskyy's leadership. Prime Minister Kishida, as Japan and the G7, of which Japan is the Chair, will directly convey our solidarity and unwavering support for Ukraine.
- At a summit meeting with President Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Kishida will resolutely reject Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and unilateral changing of the status quo by force, and reconfirm his determination to uphold the international order based on the rule of law.
- At the summit meeting in Poland, the leaders will confirm their commitment to strengthen the bilateral cooperation as well as that of the international fora, including response to Russia's aggression against Ukraine, based on the strategic partnership with Poland, which is the frontline of military and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
