Japan-Germany Relations

On May 7, Mr. ISHIBA Shigeru, Prime Minister of Japan, sent a congratulatory letter to H.E. Mr. Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. In this letter, Prime Minister Ishiba extended his congratulations on Chancellor Merz’s inauguration. He also expressed that he would like to work together with Chancellor Merz to further develop the close relationship between Japan and Germany, and that the two countries will work closely together to promote a free and open Indo-Pacific and peace and stability in the international community.
