  1. The Fourth Intergovernmental Consultation on Cooperation between Japan and the Czech Republic in the Field of Science and Technology was held on January 17, 2018 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo.
  2. This Consultation was co-chaired by Mr. Takeshi Nakane, Ambassador for Science and Technology Cooperation from the Japanese side, and Ms. Jana Bystřická, Acting Director, Department of Strategic Programs and Projects, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS) from the Czech side. This Consultation was attended by officials and members from relevant ministries and institutions of both countries including the Cabinet Office (CAO), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), the Ministry of the Environment, Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Czech Research Institutes and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Japan.
  3. Both sides explained their current policies and joint research on science, technology and innovation, and exchanged their views on water resource and advanced technologies for drinking and waste water treatment, nanostructured chalcogenides for advanced electronic and photonic applications, and nuclear reactor safety technology.
