Foreign Minister kAMIKAWA shaking Hands with the Rt Hon REYNOLDS, Secretary of State for Business and Trade and President of the Board of Trade of the UK

On July 16, at 3:00 p.m. local time (10:00 p.m. in Japan), Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, who is visiting Italy to attend the G7 Trade Ministers' Meeting, held informal talks with The Rt Hon Jonathan REYNOLDS MP, Secretary of State for Business and Trade and President of the Board of Trade of the United Kingdom.

  1. Minister Kamikawa congratulated Secretary of State Reynolds on his appointment, and they confirmed continuous cooperation in a wide range of areas, including security and economy, given the ever-stronger partnership between Japan and the UK, with shared values and principles.
  2. They confirmed the UK's active engagement in the Indo-Pacific region and both countries’ cooperation for the global stability and growth. They also confirmed that they will work together closely to address issues related to economic security with like-minded countries including G7.
